Day 6: Beyoncé Lied to You: You ARE IRREPLACEABLE!

Memory Verse: The Spirit Himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children, and if children, also heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ—seeing that we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. Romans 8:16-17

Psalm: 8

Task: Remind someone of his or her value today. Encourage 3 people in God by telling them the value it adds to your life just by knowing them.

You is kind. You is smart. You is important. Grammatically speaking, this may be all wrong, but spiritually speaking it couldn’t be any more right. God thinks so much of you. Day 3 was about how you should see yourself. Today is about how God sees you.

You are valuable in the sight of the King. You alone were worth the value of God’s most prized possession, His Own Son- the 2nd in the Trinity-the embodiment of His essence wrapped in sinful flesh- yet sinless, clinging to a tree some 2000+ years ago.

I believe that you must know your value to understand your worth. Value is defined by the worth of what it can be exchanged for. So you must be irreplaceable, if God saw fit to give His only Begotten Son in exchange for your life. Worth is defined as especially high spiritual quality of mind and character, or good and important enough to justify. Our worth measured by God is determined by what is in our hearts, not by how well we can dress it up. Our worth comes from accepting the value that He has bestowed on us, then allowing His character to give back to Him the very things that He has deposited within us.

The Bible is rich with parables and examples that denote our worth, reminding us how much we mean to God- mostly I believe, because this is a key attack of the enemy. If he can make us think that we are unworthy of God’s love or convince us that our value has been diminished, then it will be that much easier to leer us away from God. In Luke 15, Jesus speaks about the lost sheep. He describes how a GOOD shepherd would leave 99 sheep in an open pasture, just to go back and capture that one sheep. That’s value. To know that when we go astray as we often do, Christ Himself as the Good Shepherd will coming looking for us is amazing. Your justification is found in Christ ALONE! Not in your talents, gifts, cars, degrees, or spiritual accolades….IN CHRIST ALONE!

I’m reminded of the story of the Prodigal Son in this same chapter and how, when he returned to His senses and decided to go home, his father saw him from a distance, was filled with compassion and ran to him. What a powerful Word for us. As soon as we turn away from our sin and turn back to Him, He meets us with open arms, ready to clothe us back into our bloodright (you’ll catch that in a minute).

The world can not devalue us, but it can convince us that we are no longer worthy to be heirs of Christ’s glory, just as the Prodigal Son believed that he had done too much to be accepted back under his father’s name again. When you feel like you have done too much, you’ve gone too far, and you are certain that the Lord is surely through with you…remember what Paul boldly says in Romans 8:38 ‘I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!’ You are not only irreplaceable, you are KEPT in Christ.

INSIGHT: There isn’t much that I can expound on this day. It’s pretty self-explanatory. You are valued by God. He is not mad at you, He is madly in love with you. There is no one else that He would rather spend time. Christ reconciled you back to Himself just so He could spend eternity with you. Don’t allow the dirt and the circumstances of this life to pull you down and steal your joy. You were created by love, and formed into a vessel of praise. The Lord deposited value into you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Remember that you may be one person in this world, but to someone you may be the world. To someone you are more valuable than you even realize. You are first on someone’s list to call when they are down, or happy, or frustrated, or just want to hang. Never take it lightly the value that you hold in someone’s life and never take advantage of those that you esteem valuable.

Tell someone how much he/she means to you today.

Sometimes they just need to hear it.
